Another great day on the mountain with Rick qualifying the car 36th out of 63 cars and even beating a Tesla Model S 90 by a few seconds. That car is very cool and very fast with 600+ HP (as compared to our 180) but suffers a significant weight disadvantage, weighing more than double EVSR. While 36th might not seem that great consider that we are the only car there with less than 200 HP.
Rick Knoop‘s qualifying time time was 12 seconds better than last year and the top section time showed a similar improvement. We are very excited about tomorrow because our biggest improvement will most definitely be in the twisty steep sections of the middle practice. Watch this video from Rick’s qualifying session.
At the front of the Pikes Peak field it’s gas VS electric with Rhys Millen aiming to repeat his overall win of last year but with Romain Dumas besting Rhys by a couple of seconds at the bottom of the mountain it should be a close race. Expect Sunday to be an exciting competition for all of us.
